Consider this Steuben treasure, the very rare signed. A limited edition (of only 30 made) in correct original fitted red leather box. Perfect for the wise one or for the collector.

A heavy fire polished, cut and sandblasted moon like surface magnifies and refracts the light into it's rainbow pattern. On this starry dotted orb of the purest crystal a painstakingly hand engraved Night Owl perches among tree branches surveying it's kingdom.

An early creation of the famed Steuben designer, writer and outdoorsman, the late James Houston. Renown for Arctic Fisherman, Ice Hunter, Excalibur, Polar Bear with Cub, Arctic Ice Bear, Arctic Mother, Eagle on Globe, Trout & Fly, Salmon, Sea Otter and many others. At just over 8 inches in diameter and very heavy approx. 8lbs, this Steuben rarity is crystal clear with no chips, no cracks, no display wear scratches on the bottom.

Upon the closest inspection I find what may be a small scratch or tool mark hidden among the tree branches. The crystal block is fully signed "steuben" in script.

This will be packed in it's original vintage excellent condition red leather fitted box with no stains, tears or off odors to the leather or velvet lining, with some minor impressions and wear to the leather surfaces. You will be thrilled with this stunning work of art. I have set a very fair price for this rare hand engraved wonderful Steuben sculpture in it's original leather masterwork's box. Collectors and those seeking to maintain value in the work look for the original fitted leather case. Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903.

Recognized as the world's foremost artisan glass house, Steuben glass was hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY. Steuben glass was frequently the United States' gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Items that did not meet their exacting production standards were destroyed by being smashed in a bin.
