Joe Triplo studio ceramics, Hand-thrown art pottery bowl from Hudson Valley pottery trail Handmade Ceramic. 13" wide, 4.5" deep. I have enjoyed looking at this bowl for well over 25 years, Thank you Joe. Made by a master potter found on the Hudson Valley Pottery trail.
Joe's an active artisan last I heard. We haven't spoken for at least 20 years. I was his photographer for many years and so was privy to obtaining some of his finest work... This dark glaze is rich in color, and made me wish I had a studio again, as these pics don't do it justice. The piece betrays asian influence as well as his own roots, with clay dug from his own family source.
This is a rare piece from what i see. It has three flat rim areas, yet visually is a very true circle. Pushing against the ordinary it transcends. In the center of the bowl is abstract imagery. You see what you will.
I saw a bird on a branch for years, then after moving to the West coast, I saw a whale. I assure very careful packing and will insure accordingly. This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Bowls".
